We are a small team at the Mindfulness Initiative, and are hugely grateful to a number of stakeholders and advisors who support our work on a voluntary basis. Occasionally we may have specific projects or roles that people can volunteer for, and we will include those here. Thank you so much for all your support in helping us make a difference.
Treasurer
As part of strengthening our governance, we are looking for a volunteer Treasurer, with experience of mindfulness and of organisational finances, to join our Trustee Board.
The role of a Treasurer is to maintain an overview of the organisation’s affairs, ensuring its financial viability and that proper financial records and procedures are maintained.
Responsibilities include:
monitoring the accounts, overseeing budgets and ensuring appropriate accounting procedures and audits are followed
presenting financial reports to the Board and keeping the Trustees informed about their financial responsibilities
supporting financial planning, including contributing to the fundraising strategy and overseeing the reserves policies
The role involves attending quarterly Board meetings and liaising regularly with the Director. As well as financial experience, a Treasurer needs the skills to analyse proposals and their financial consequences, and an ability to communicate financial information in a straightforward way.
In addition, all our Trustees need to be UK residents and should have an understanding of mindfulness and a personal practice.
If this sounds like you, or someone you know, please get in touch.
We are an equal opportunities employer. We will be using positive action under section 159 of the Equality Act in relation to disability or race for this position. This means that if we have two candidates of equal merit who will be taken through to the next part of the recruitment process, we will seek to take forward the disabled, or black, Asian or ethnic minority candidate in order to diversify our team at the Mindfulness Initiative.
