Climate Youth Resilience Our survey on climate youth resilience is live! We are identifying where contemplative practices are used - and where they're not - in support of climate-related mental health. These might be Indigenous approaches, mindfulness and compassion practices, active speaking and deep listening, breathing exercises, movement, dance, or other approaches which address climate emotions and support climate resilience. If you are a youth organisation and/or resource provider to emerging adults (ages 16 – 30) working in the climate space, we are keen to hear from you! Take the survey! Completar la encuesta en español Répondez à l'enquête en français Responda à pesquisa em português أكمل الاستبيان باللغة العربية Based on your survey feedback, we will (i) generate a global map to show where practices are already in place, and where there are gaps, and (ii) tell your stories of how climate change is directly impacting your community. Identifying gaps and climate impact is especially important so that in Phase 2 we can collaborate with you to fill any gaps appropriately. Survey findings will be presented to you in a youth-led webinar in Q1 next year. The online webinar will double-up as a networking opportunity for you to connect across geographies, link up around common themes, and form communities of practice. Following the webinar, in Phase 2, we will collaborate closely with you and resource providers to develop additional resources, with sensitivity to the context in which they will be used. We are committed to supporting youth-led networks and want to ensure a diversity of appropriate resources that are suited to different contexts and conditions and that help build organisations and movements. The survey closes in mid-December Take the survey! We want to reach as many communities as we can with this survey, and have shared a number of translations above. If you would like to request a version in a particular language, please contact [email protected], and we will do our best to provide it. About this project The Mindfulness Initiative - a "think-and-do" tank - uses contemplative practice, particularly mindfulness and compassion, to improve the formulation of policy. We work with parliamentarians, policy makers and organisations to support inner change as our societies change. Our report Reconnection: Meeting the Climate Crisis Inside Out emphasises the value of cultivating our inner capacities to respond to climate change. Supporting Climate Youth Resilience is a continuation of this work.
