Baroness Doreen Massey, a long-term supporter of mindfulness in Westminster, sadly died on 20th April 2024.

A committed member of the mindfulness community in Parliament, Baroness Massey treated all she met with a genuine warmth and kindness, and those who practised alongside her appreciated her greatly.

Reflecting recently on how mindfulness practice supported her both personally and professionally, Baroness Massey said

I think mindfulness has helped me become much better at listening, think about what’s going on with the particular person or this particular group, and try to let them talk more about how, for example, a problem might be solved.

As a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Mindfulness, Baroness Massey worked to bring the benefits of mindfulness into politics and policy. Chris Ruane, Honorary President of the MAPPG, said "Doreen brought amazing insights and reflections to the groups she attended, and will be sorely missed."
